Casas Adobes

Casas Adobes is a census designated spot just south of Oro Valley in the 85704 zip code. Translated from Spanish, Casas Adobes means “Adobe Houses”. The Casas Adobes community is older than the town of Oro Valley, and boasts not only many adobe homes, but also some of the most concentrated Mid-Century modern subdivisions in Tucson—including architectural beauties from Tom Gist and Nicholas Sakellar, among others. In the 1960’s, one of Casas Adobe’s most prolific developers, Sam Nanini, built the Omni Tucson National Resort and Tucson National Estates. He also was responsible for the popular and architecturally relevant Casas Adobes Plaza (which houses the aforementioned Wildflower restaurant as one of its tenants). Casas Adobes is also home to the world-renowned Tohono Chul Park, named by Travel+Leisure magazine as one of the “Great Botanical Gardens of the World”. This beautiful park has both incredible diverse Sonoran desert flora and an art gallery.

Casas Adobes has lots of great shopping and dining options, including a few of our favorites—The Parish (southern-style cuisine and fabulous cocktails) and Wildflower (featuring a chic modern American menu and indoor/outdoor seating). Residents will enjoy close proximity to healthy grocery options like Whole Foods, Trader Joes, Sprouts and Natural Grocers, all just minutes away from each other. The popular garden art shop, The Happy Saguaro, will fill your new desert garden with unique and one-of-a kind items, and you can indulge in some “retail therapy” at Marshall’s, Home Goods, Kohls and more.
